    That 2.5G Port speed OOF
I’ve been using the Netgear Orbi 770 (2-pack) for a few months now in my home, and it’s been a game-changer Setup was straightforward through the Orbi app; it took maybe 15-20 minutes to get everything synced and running.Coverage is impressive, reaching every corner of our house (including the backyard) with strong, consistent signals — no more dead zones like with our old router. What really stands out is the network speed and the ports. The 2.5 Gig internet port (WAN) and the multiple 2.5G LAN ports on the router and satellites work great. I have a multi-gig internet connection. Devices plugged into the satellites maintain excellent throughput too, even over wireless backhaul. The ports deliver reliable, multi-gig performance that matches what | expected from a WiFi 7 system. Wireless speeds are solid as well-up to 11 Gops total rated, and in real-world use, I see great results on WiFi 7-compatible devices (often 1-2 Gops close-range).The tri-band setup with MLO helps keep things smooth even with dozens of devices connected.Overall, highly recommend the Orbi 770 if you’re looking to future-proof your network. It’s not the cheapest, but the performance, especially those fast 2.5G ports and whole-home coverage, make it worth it. 5 stars!

    Simple and Reliable
I started with a different brand that had more to offer in terms of speed and features, but it failed to deliver. Devices would randomly lose connection. I returned those and replaced with the Orbi 770 system. Although I wish it had more features, it delivers in reliability and quality of connection. The system has delivered consistent high speeds within the limits of my ISP plan, which is no where near the limits of the Orbi 770 system. In terms of setup, I’ve learned to disable my phone eSIM prior to setting up new wifi devices, which I highly recommend so your phone doesn’t try to reach a usable internet connection while setting up your network. Having said that, the setup was very simple and easy. I didn’t have any issues. Satellites take longer to connect than I would have thought, but they did connect without issues and continue to work fine. I wish it had more features for the money, like device prioritization, but it works very well and I haven’t had a single issue. I recommend if someone is looking for a reliable mesh package that is basically a ‘set it and forget it’ system.

    Garbage firmware and reliability
Nightmare setup experience. It took 5 hours of back-and-forth time on chat and phone with Netgear tech support, with their team running background config changes on my devices, to get the satellites to connect. Then another 2 hours when I added an additional satellite later. The router software and companion app are atrocious. 4/5 times I open the Orbi app to check the network status, the network treats that as a signal to immediately disconnect the device I’m using. 4/5 times I open the app I’m also prompted to pay a premium subscription for parental controls I don’t want or need. Restarting these devices takes eons – 5-10 minutes to reestablish satellite links to the base when the devices are 30 feet apart with no physical obstacles between them. Even wired connections to the satellites aren’t safe. I get frequent dips in connection quality between the base and satellites are seemingly just too slow to talk to one another at times. I end up hard-restarting at least one satellite every few days due to these issues. On top of this, likely because the firmware on these devices is so jacked, moving devices from room to room (satellite to satellite) results in the network dropping them / failing to hand off the device and maintain an IP address. I encounter this issue daily or every other day with at least one phone, laptop or tablet in the house. When this happens, it’s a 5-10 minute wait if I restart the satellite I want to connect to, or a 0-15 minute wait for the satellite to pick up the connection by its own will.I’ve never encountered reliability issues at this magnitude before, having used mesh router products from Google, TP-Link and Eero. This is an expensive routing solution, and especially for the money it comes with an inexcusable basket of headeaches and reliability issues. Look elsewhere.

    solid systme
i’ve owned and used several netgear nighthawk mesh routers in several homes over the past 10 years. we now have a 4400 sq ft home and decided to try this orbi. i do a lot of networking. this was brain dead simple to set up. both satellite nodes immediately synch’ed after powering on. peformance has been great. we have 2gb comcast. i’m consistently getting .9-1.2gb wifi throuhout the house. also easy to config a dedicated 2.4 ghz sid for iot devices.
