Unreliable, randomly power cycles outlets!
I hooked this thing up in my studio so that I could use my phone to toggle the power of some of my audio equipment that doesn’t have an on/off button, and save some electricity when the studio isn’t in use. I’ve only had it hooked up for a couple of days, but it has already done this more than once!Basically, for no reason at all, the power strip will randomly switch off and almost immediately turn back on again. This causes a big voltage spike/power surge which is potentially very damaging to professional audio equipment.If this happens even one more time, I’ll most definitely be returning this device for a refund and investigating alternative power management options. A surge strip should never power cycle like this for no reason whatsoever, especially not a “smart” one!Aside from what is connected to the Geeni surge strip, none of my other equipment had any power interruption when the Geeni strip power cycled, so I know the issue was isolated to this device and not some other systemic problem with the power here.

Does its job. No frills, no complaints.
I use this in my office to control some light fixtures that can’t use smart bulbs, and it’s been fine. Each outlet can be named and controlled independently, but I usually just use them all at once by telling my smart thing to “turn off the office” and it just poofs the whole office into off mode.

Affordable and extremely useful
I got this for my desk lamp and powered speakers (Kanto YU2.) Since WFH began, reaching under the desk everyday for the lamp switch and fiddling with my speakers’ volume became a real pain. With this outlet and the free SmartLife app (I can confirm it works!) I schedule everything on my desk to turn on before I start working and turn itself off in the evening. The 2 USB charging ports are very useful as well.One issue I encountered was, when I initially placed it right by my wifi router, It had a really hard time syncing in the app and staying on my wifi network. It was frustrating and I almost gave up, but moving them apart from each other fixed it and the experience has been seamless for months now.

It is a great value because you get 4 outlets that you can control independently. The price was not bad and the quality was much better than I expected it to be. This geni does good work making your outlets smart also has 2 usb ports to charge stuff the wires and case were nicer than you would expect for the price.

OK, its a nice multi-outlet device.My gripes are Google does not have a web-based version of “home”, so you absolutely need to use a smartphone or tablet to control the power strip. For most people, not a problem at all, but I sure would love to use a simple web interface, so I can VPN in and control via my LAN, or control from my Linux or Windows desktop PC in the office.You can also use the Geeni app, but again, no html version, app (ios or Android only)I’m sure alexa and siri behave similarly, shame.Only other thing would be independent local power switches. The unit has only a master switch.I’ll be looking to replace this eventually. For now, its ok.

El multicontacto puede apagar y prender cada enchufe independientemente, lo que lo hace ideal para no tener aparatos conectados 24/7, si no solo cuando uno los vaya a utilizar como el bluray, xbox, controles del xbox e incluso tengo conectado un ventilador a él. Para aparatos como los controles del xbox, los pongo a que se carguen solo unas horas un dia a la semana, ya que casi no los uso. Cada enchufe puede ser personalizable para utilizarlo con Alexa, por ejemplo el del “Ventilador”, así lo nombre y cada vez que quiero prenderlo, simplemente se lo pido a Alexa con el nombre asignado. No solo ayuda a ahorrar electricidad sino que tambien lográ hacer de tu casa una casa inteligente.

I am extremely disappointed with this purchase of the Geeni Multi Outlet Plug. While it was convenient for the first few months, it completely stopped working after only three months of standard use. For a smart home device, this level of quality and durability is unacceptable.What is even more frustrating is that this is not an isolated incident. I previously bought a different product from the Geeni brand and experienced the exact same situation: it failed shortly after the warranty period expired, proving to be just as unreliable.This pattern of early failure across multiple product lines suggests a significant quality control issue with the Geeni brand overall. I relied on these devices for my home setup, and having them fail so quickly has been a major inconvenience and a waste of money. I will absolutely not be purchasing any Geeni products in the future and would caution others who are looking for reliable, long-term smart home solutions. Avoid this brand if you value durability.
