easy to use and configure and very fast
I love it, easy to use and configure. AdGuard home is a nice touch and having my VPN networkwide is awesome. Even Tail Scale works, which surprised me! Network speeds are very good with the 2.5gbit ports, and having alternate ways to keep an internet connection with USB 4 and 5g modems is way more than a normal home user would need lol, but very nice to have the option. It has way more features so read about it to make an informed decision.

Great coverage and speed for my two story home
I’ve been looking to replace my old wifi router to get the speed my ISP delivers. As my house is 4200 sq.ft. and two stories, I was led to believe that I needed a mesh router solution. I purchased two different mesh brands, but unless the two devices are wired together, the speed of the second device is DRASTICALLY reduced, like 50%. So I decided to try this router, labeled as a gaming router, even though its claimed coverage is only 2400 sq.ft. It works great with very little speed loss even in the room farthest from the router that is located on the second floor. It’s more of a technical router, which means more options, like three separate SSID’s for frequency selection (needed for cameras and aquarium controller. I Highly recommend this router

Powerful router
Fairly easy to set up and a powerful router. I was able to eliminate my Wi-Fi extender and just use this.

Easy to set up, works as intended, great coverage in my 3300 sq. ft. home
Used this in repeater mode, and it picked up the signal from the downstairs wireless router in the basement. I located this router in our home theatre room and it has a 2000 sq. ft. coverage, esentially covering this 3300 sq. ft. house. As a repeater, it connected to my existing WiFi network, and instead of 192.168.1.1 for the downstairs router, this rebroadcasts at 192.168.8.1, with its own network, allowing up to 90 devices through it. It took a little fiddling to set it up. I should have selected the repeater function first, as adding this router doubled my coverage at 2.5 Gbs speeds through a Cat 6 ethernet cable. I’m pleased how well it works and the review from the IT manager clinched my decision. And he was right.

Works Fine, Strong Signal
This was a replacement for an old Netgear modem that started failing. The iOS app is useful for setup, MAC address filtering works well (which was a must for me), and it has all other standard features that I need. The signal seems to be stronger than what I had in the past, even in the most remote corners of the house. No complaints after a few days of use.

Easy to set up
Easy to set up and the admin tool works well. I like being able to assign devices to separate channels. I bought this along with a Netgear router to replace rented Xfinity equipment and I think I made a good decision.

A small WiFi router that packs a punch
I am an IT professional that has been a Network Manager, Senior Systems Analyst, Network Technician & User Services Manager over a career in IT that has lasted over 40 years. I was even the sole individual who had to approve any IT related technology purchases for a major University. So, I have an extensive background in computer networking and am very knowledgeable in all things network infrastructure related. Given all of that, this small (4 Ethernet ports) WiFi 7 router managed to impress me. It is a dual channel (2.4 & 5Ghz) router although the same manufacturer does make a tri-channel version of this router that also has a 6Ghz channel. The router is a true WiFi 7 BE6500 router. It manages to pack in all of the great features that WiFi 7 has brought to home networking. This includes MLO, slightly increased range (over WiFi 6) and larger throughput. It only lacks the 6 Ghz third channel and if you are not a heavy gamer, you probably will not miss the 3rd channel. What it does have which is literally unheard of in small 4 port routers is all 4 of the Ethernet ports are 2.5 Gbps. Usually, routers of this size have only one 2.5 Gbps port with the remaining ports being 1 Gbps. The router is also using OpenWRT as it’s OS. OpenWRT is arguably the best consumer grade OS for routers. In fact, many professionals consider OpenWRT as Prosumer grade OS which is a step above consumer grade. The OpenWRT OS accepts plug-ins such as Adguard and parental control. This unit also has VPN as part of the OS. The VPN is both client and server. You can use the client or the server side of things or you can configure and use both. It is entirely up to you. The only negative thing I can say about OpenWRT is that it can be a bit confusing for many home networking novices. There are lots of options and someone who is new to home networking will probably get lost in all of the different levels of what seems like endless options. If you are new to home networking, having a knowledgeable friend help you setup your network is highly advisable. This might be a relatively small router but someone who understands what all of the bells and whistles do will really get this router to perform at surprisingly high levels. My only complaint about the physical hardware is the lack of LED status lights in the body of the router. If you have used home networking routers from brands such as dLink, Netgear, ASUS and Cisco in the past, you already know how handy having status indicators for the individual Ethernet ports can be. The lack of them on this router is a little bit disappointing but should not be a deal breaker. This little box packs in so much other wonderful goodness that it is easy to forgive the exclusion of status LED’s. If you are currently using a router that was supplied by your Internet provider, this router will definitely be an upgrade and a nice step up over the mediocre routers that your provider will gladly provide to you for free or a small monthly rental fee. Stop paying for mediocrity on a monthly basis and step up to the next level. You will be happy you did.

Easy to plug and play
Exactly as expected. SQM capabilities are smoother compared to the previous model I had (ax-1800). Definitely a 5 out of 5 thanks to openwrt customization, out of box is okay but if you know what you’re doing this is truly an absolute pleasure to work with.

My aging Asus router needed replacing, I was hoping to replace it with an upgraded version but was well over £280.This model from GL.iNet kept coming up as an option. Not heard of the brand before, so was a bit wary, but it was worth a shot, given price and the reviews as well. The form factor is slightly smaller than my older router so it just fits perfectly in the perforated wooden cabinet I made for it on the wall.I have an old Victorian house with thick walls and my old router struggled and needed a couple of those plug in extenders, even with high gain antennas on my old router.I have a home office in a converted garage and the old signal was too weak and not even an extender was able to get a usable signal. The only way was to get a cat6 cable from the router to my office.I took a chance on this and it arrived early next day. Very clear setup and so easy. A quick firmware upgrade and it was up and running in 15 minutes.I now have a really powerful signal through out my house without any need for extenders. It also gives me a strong signal in my office, so the cable is now redundant. Quite remarkable. Phone app is very useful and easy. There are a bunch of other tech features such as MLO, parental controls and ad blocking which I have yet to explore. If you’re looking at this and are unsure, go for it, definitely would recommend it.

Not really sure why there are so many good reviews. The router seems very bad, mimo network drops very often and has poor coverage. Not getting even half speed of my broadband no matter if cable or wireless. From internet it seems to be the case with PPOE internet. Tried different network acceleration modes, acceleration off, different MTU settings but nothing is helping getting 550Mb speed on 1 gig network, when on poor little router from ISP I was getting 960 Mb/s.Coverage even with 4 big antentas is agian worse then the ISP router without any outside antenas, just terrible router in general.
